How does AI know what to say?
It draws on three sources of information:
1. Property-specific knowledge document of up to 800 words.
For example, to answer 5 questions in the demo video, the following text was used with only 74 words:
Human & AI chat. AI is empathetic & reassuring. Human rented a rural house with firewood & unreliable WiFi. Early 2pm check-in is $20 to pay cleaning crew. Nearby restaurants: Walter's Deli, Fuji Sushi & Mountain Top Grill. Thermostat issues - suggest guest ensures all 3 units are set to heat, then wait 15min, & AI to also say if didn't work, guest should turn off electrical panel's breaker, wait 5min, & then turn it back on. Small damage is ok.
2. Guest data
Reservation details such as name, dates, check-in & check-out times, number of guests & pets, total amount paid, and the like.
3. Previous chat history.
To ensure continuity of the conversation.What specific type of AI is it?
While in beta, we interchangeably use OpenAI GPT-4o and GPT NeoX 20B.
In either case, the quality of the text generated is so high that it can be difficult to determine whether or not it was written by a human.What is the quality of the responses?
In our tests, AI responses had quality score of 4 (good) or 5 (great) in 88.2% of the cases. Such responses do not need editing and can be provided to the guest as-is. For other cases, altering a message is far quicker than writing it from scratch as AI prefills the response field.
Pricing?
Using state-of-the-art AI models is quite expensive, thus we estimate the pricing for the Chrome extensions to be around $95/month/listing after the beta period. Currently, all users as considered beta users and receive a 14-day free trial and a lifetime price lock of $49/month/listing (up to 300 queries/month/listing).
What about mobile, platforms besides HostAway, and other browsers?
We are currently working on it and will provide more information in the first quarter of 2025.
